Next year will
be the 40th anniversary of our Guild with IOLI. Think
about ways to celebrate our lace journey.
Jan shared highlights of the IOLI
convention. About 200 attended. The convention favors
were available at check-in and meals. Items she
brought back included: luggage tag, threads, bobbin
holder, notebook, light holder, needle pickup, scissors,
pin, wooden angel and a “don’t touch your thread”
holder. She enjoyed all her instructors and classes.
Next meeting she will share the tatting done at her
other retreat.
Show and tell included three
dimensional items by Sylvia, along with Idrija birds,
dollhouse rug and tablecloth and current LACE journal
with her work.
Helen shared
she laced in Puerto Rico with her Mom and Aunt and made
lace trim for a blouse, bookmarks with five spider
types, and earrings. Her red work quilt won a blue
ribbon at a local show.
We had many items brought in for
sharing that found new homes.
The rest of the meeting was led
by Cathy as we started our Lace angels. We will complete
the fill-in lace work (Romanian point) at our October
meeting. If you have your binders from a previous
workshop, bring them; otherwise, my binder will be
available for you to make copies at the library.
There are five kits available for the project as 12 were
purchased by our Guild.
