September 2020 Lighthouse Lacers Newsletter

Greetings, hope this newsletter finds you all well and looking forward to the cooler days of September.

On August 8th, six members brought their chairs and had a meeting at
Poerio Park in Kenosha. The address is 1401- 16th Avenue. It is the baseball diamond part of the park, not around the corner where the park sign and shelter is.

Items covered were the following:

  The IOLI convention gift was emailed to guild members by Rose Ann
  Keep track of volunteer hours
  Hospice Alliance will be raffling the lace Christmas tree, so continue to make ornaments.
  Last call on Barbara Gordon’s things. Rose Ann will be keeping #10 thread for future demonstrations.

Next meeting will be September 12th.  Due to rain forecast on Saturday, September 12th,  we will meet indoors at Ocenco at 1:00 p.m.  There is space to practice social distancing. Masks are required in WI unless eating or drinking.The address is 10224 82nd Avenue, Pleasant Prairie, WI.  Hope to see you there.  Bring your chair in case the weather cooperates and we we can set up in the parking lot if that is more comfortable for members.See Rose Ann’s phone number below or email if any questions.


October 10th - Decorate hospice tree
November 14
December 12th - Holiday luncheon, election of officers, collection of dues and optional gift exchange.

2021 IOLI Convention : "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" will be held July 24th - August 1st at The Nugget in
Sparks NV. List of classes and instructors were in the summer IOLI bulletin.
They have announced a competition. Lace a moon. Piece should be a full circle or a circular edging with at least one silver thread. The diameter should be a minimum of 4 inches and a maximum of 8 inches. If doing a circular edging, the edging should be a minimum of 2 inches width. You can create your own design or use a published design.

    
The above meetings are all up in the air.  The board will have to discuss how the August meeting went before making solid plans for any future meetings.  If anyone has other ideas for meeting places, please let me know.
