September 2016 Lighthouse Lacers Newsletter

No September meeting scheduled.


August 13th meeting was held at the Activity Room B Southside Library, Kenosha. nine members were present.  We had sharing of projects from shawls, scarves, Christmas stocking to Sylvia's 50 plus ornaments for the Hospice Tree.  Members who went to convention shared their experiences from the IOLI Convention.  Good workshops and side tours.  We received a CD and thumbdrive with all patterns. The person who won our basket sent a thank you note.  Next year, the 64th convention will be held the week of July 17th at the Valley Forge Casino, Radisson hotel, 1160 First Avenue, King of Prussia, PA. 

IOLI share box is found under "educational" if we want to order for future meetings.

IOLI will be making reporting of hours available online.  With this a tree year, we should be over 1,000 hours.  Make sure you track and report either online or to the President in April. 

SueAnna will file tax return so we can continue our non-profit status.

Reservation fee of $35 paid for Avalon ParK Clubhouse for retreat to be reimbursed from group funds. 

Nominating committee needs to select slate of officers for December election.

 September - Sheep & Wool Festival (September 8-11, Jefferson County Fairgrounds).

October 8th - tree trimming at Hospice, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI, 53158.
1:00 p.m. 

November 12th - 9 a.m. retreat.  Pat will be teaching Teneriffe. Only need to bring your own thread (20 or 30 weight as she has rest of supplies.) As usual, members can come and work on their own projects to enjoy the day. Potluck at lunch time. Location Avalon Park Clubhouse (same as last year). She will email patterns to you and we can plan on appropriate amount of food and settings.  Entrance to complex is off of Green Bay Road across from Kenosha Water Utility and between the new Hanson Pool business and Sunset Ridge Mausoleum. December 10th - potluck and election of officers.  Pat has offered her house.  We will also have a gift exchange.  Dues of $6 paid at this meeting -  5120 106th St, Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Other events mentioned - Palmetto Tat Days (SueAnna going), Finger Lakes Lace Day, Pleasant Prairie Mini Maker Faire on November 26th and Lafayette Lace Days in April.
