May 2016 Lighthouse Lacers Newsletter


Meeting on April 9th was demo at the Northside library. Eight members present demonstrated tatting, bobbin lace, Irish crochet and Carrickmacross. We had several people stop and look at our projects. 

Window display had been well received and was taken down on March 31st. 
 
Reminder- volunteer hours are due to Sue Anna by 5-1. These need to be turned in to IOLI to assist in retention of our (and national organization) tax free status. email: sascribner@sbcglobal.net or phone 847-721-6515.
 
Welcome new member Robin Lucareli from
Omro, WI. email: ajlrjl@yahoo.com She travels to Ireland yearly and does beautiful and colorful Carrickmacross lace. 
 
Convention favor - at least one basket will be donated by group. One started is a basket donated by Pat who will make a liner with tatting shuttles motif. Cathy made a necklace scissor fob/pin cushion utilizing Irish crochet pattern. Sue Anna will donate a shuttle and Barbara some thread. We will bring items to complete basket in June. 


Registration for convention starts 2-22. One of our members is teaching - Marilee and several are going to take classes - Sue Anna and Jan are already committed to going.

Sept 10 - Sheep & Wool Festival ( Sept 8-11, Jefferson County Fairgrounds).
As this is tree year, some members suggested scheduling room and having a work meeting if not attending the Sheep & Wool Festival. 

Oct 8 - tree trimming at Hospice. Jan will clarify date.


Nov 12 - retreat or meeting


Dec 10 - potluck
