June 2016 Lighthouse Lacers Newsletter

Meeting on May 14th was a work meeting at the Northside Library.  Nine members were present, and we worked in a variety of techniques for ornaments for our Hospice Tree. 

Volunteer hours turned in to IOLI were 769.

IOLI convention- one member teaching and at least two attending.

Picnic Potluck - June 11th at Candy Klee - 1:00 p.m. Bring your own chair and a dish to pass. Email or call Candy if coming.

We will complete filling the basket to be sent to IOLI (donated and lined by Pat), Irish crochet necklace scissor fob/pin cushion by Kathy, shuttle by Sue Anna, and thread by Barbara. 

Tree for hospice was donated by Kathy, Rose will make garland, Trish the skirt and Kathy the angel topper. Ornaments are to be primarily white, accent colors okay.

July 9th - work meeting

July 16-23 IOLI convention "Race to Make Lace" Indianapolis IN

Sept 10th - Sheep & Wool Festival (Sept 8-11, Jefferson County Fairgrounds).

As this is tree year, some members suggested scheduling a room and having a work meeting if not attending the Wool Festival. 

Oct 8th - Tree trimming at Hospice. Jan will clarify date.

Nov 12th - Retreat. Jan will be teaching Teneriffe. Only need to bring your own thread (20 or 30 weight.) Jan has rest of supplies. As usual, members can come and work on their own projects to enjoy the day. Potluck at lunch time. Hope to be able to reserve same clubhouse as last year.
