January 13th meeting was held at Festival Foods, 6000-31st Street, Kenosha, between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.  Seven members were present.  Items discussed included:

 

1. Christmas Tree for hospice was purchased and given to Rose Ann.  Rose Ann has not heard back about poster for hospice to use at summer markets.

 

2. Civil War Museum requested a demonstration on March 10th between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.   Fran, Cathy, Sue Anna, Jan, and Trish will demo.  We will not have a March meeting.  Rose Ann will order two dozen plastic shuttles for teaching.  We will wind at February meeting.  Bring size 10 thread.

 

3. Spring retreat to be led by Jan.  Bobbin lace "starts and finishes" will be held over two consecutive Saturdays on April 14th and 21st at the Avalon Parc Clubhouse. Please let Trish know if you are coming so we set up the appropriate number of tables and chairs. 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. with a potluck lunch.

 

4. Flyer needs updating. Rose Ann will work on content with Pat who has the original.  Rose Ann will get a lucite holder for the flyers.

 

5. Business cards will also be printed with our information. Trish will provide a holder.

 

6. Rose Ann will let Northside Library know of decision not to put a display in the window this year. Library said there is a six-month wait time to get back on the schedule.

 

7. Pat had an email with a request to identify lace. She referred her to local contacts she saw in the IOLI bulletin.

 

8. Barbara had a woman on the plane see her Lace bag and complemented the group on the demo she attended in Milwaukee in September.  Barbara also will not be renewing her IOLI membership. Rose Ann will check to see how many members are required to retain charter status with IOLI.

 

9. Theresa has put in many hours putting together an album from the group's box.  We also looked through the 1987 convention book.

 

10. Trish will organize some of Heidi’s prickings and retreat sample pieces.
