Lighthouse Lacers

December 2018 Lighthouse Lacers Newsletter

Meetings will be held in the second floor conference room (by deli department and accessible by stairs and elevator) at Festival Foods, 3207-80th Street, Kenosha, WI, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

The December 8th meeting was our holiday meeting and attended by 10 members. We enjoyed the food prepared by the deli department.  The gift exchange was fun and showcased members’ talents.  Candy brought jars of her jams and jellies and Theresa provided snack cups.

Short meeting was conducted by our president Rose Ann.  Dues were collected from 11 members ($6).  Rose will find out the amount of money Hospice made on the raffle that featured our tree.  She will also find out if they wish us to continue this project in 2020.  Four members demonstrated tatting, crochet, Romanian point lace and bobbin lace at the Victorian Christmas held at the Civil War Museum on 12-1.  Jan’s picture was in the Kenosha Newspaper.

Convention favors:  Rose Ann will order 300 luggage tags and cards to insert.  We will then assemble them at the January meeting.

The tax report for 2017/2018 has been filed.

Still looking for alternative locations that have fewer steps between parking and meeting space - suggestions welcome.

Retreat - Jan has offered to teach Schneeberger Lace that does not require lots of bobbins.  Date to be established.

Election of officers was held: Rose Ann - President; Fran - Vice-President; Theresa - Treasurer; Trish - Secretary.

Meeting topics for 2019 discussed. Each meeting should include show and tell along with time for help with techniques as we have members with a variety of skills.

Next meeting: January 12, 2019, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Happy Lacing
