Lighthouse Lacers

April 2017 Lighthouse Lacers Newsletter
April 8th meeting held at Festival Foods.  Eight members present at meeting led by Vice-President Fran. Lace group members opted not to request box for May meeting based on cost.  $50 deposit is refundable, but cost to ship is $60 each way in addition to needing to insure for $1,000.

Lace collection donated to Cedarburg Museum will be on display between July 13th and December 3rd.  October 7th was mentioned as a demonstration lace day at Fall University Day, but our group will not be needed per discussions with Pat and organizer.

Turn in demo hours to Rose or IOLI by May 1st needed to maintain non-profit status.

Website pictures are great.  Send pictures of your work to Barbara Gordon for use on the website or bring in your lace to our May meeting to be photographed and used on the site.

Member sharing:

Sylvia shared a site that makes chain fences of lace patterns,  http://lacefence.com/ENG/index.php.
She also had her Dala Horses published in the January 2017 Lace Magazine, Number 165.  She also shared her framed lace picture that she made for her daughter's wedding.

Cathy Mack shared a pattern to make scrubbers for doing dishes.
Jan is working on another beautiful lace scarf.

Group ideas - should we make a pillow with a cathedral window pattern that each member would make a motif for and rotate it among members or should each member make a motif for active members that could be attached to jacket, shirt, bag etc., to advertise our art.
